The Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless is the gaming headset to go for and here is why the headset is a premium headset, it is super comfortable and has a strong sound, but more expensive than the Astro A50. The Astro A50 also has a great 7.1 surround sound and very comfortable, but the Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless is much versatile with a noise-cancelling microphone.

Now that we have put out a few good points on why we think one headset is better than the other, let us dive in deeper and check out individual headset features to try to justify our choice.

Designs

When we compared the two gaming headsets, Astro A50 and Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless, the designs are completely different which can be of varying interest for many.

The Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless has a sleek design, adjustable SteelSeries elastic headband, and a plastic matte black ear cup. Just touching the headphone you will notice how solid it is, giving it some sort of durability, and most of all it has a retractable microphone which is an added advantage over similar gaming headsets. The Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless uses a wireless station that can be plugged into the computer and has differents ports at the back of the station. It also has volume control in front of the station and two rechargeable batteries which give you plenty of hours. You also have a choice of having either a wired or wireless headset.

For the design of the Astro A50 gaming headset, the design is a bit stylish with blue highlights and matte black just like Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless, but not the best, and has controls on the side of the ear cup. It has a microphone that folds up and not retractable as Steelseries and has a base station which is also a charging station, when not in use you can charge it on the base station.

To determine which of the gaming headset is best for designs, we look at the SteelSeries elastic headband, solid design, and retractable microphone, while the Astro has blue highlights ear cup controls, foldable microphone, and a base charging station. With this key point from both gaming headsets, we think the Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless emerges winner.

Comfort

When it comes to comfort, this is one of the areas gamers are interested in making some decisions because of the long hours they have to wear these headsets.

When it comes to comfort, the Astro A50 proves to be good at it, it is equipped with soft materials that cover the foam in both ears cups and the headband as well, even though the Astro is heavy, the soft materials make it appear lighter to the wearer.

The comfort of Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless is unquestionably the best, it is equipped with soft materials, an adjustable elastic headband to keep you from feeling any sort of discomfort no matter how long you wear it.

For the comfortability decision, we think the Steelseries Arctis Pro comes out as the best because of its lightness, elasticity, and softness.

Comfort winner: Steelseries Arctis Pro

Sound

The two most sort after-game headsets yet the sounds are so different-yet they sound so good you could hardly tell which is better.

For the Steelseries Arctis Pro which offers premium tuned full-range audio with huge bass, natural sound, well-tuned mid-range, loud high-mids, and clear detailing of drum beat, gunshots, and explosions in the games. It uses a ClearCast microphone for clarity, studio-quality voice, and background noise cancellation.

While the Astro A50 also offers the best high ends titles and creates a sound with much-needed detail, this, in turn, affects natural sounds and makes high frequencies sound too sharp. The Astro A50 also offers a 7.1 surround sound which is another thumbs up for the headset.

How we pick the best gaming headset is by looking at the natural sound even though this may not be someone else’s choice. If you are looking for a surround sound with a high-end boost, then the Astro A50 is the ideal headset, but if you want a natural and better sound headset, the Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless is the ideal headset.

Performance

When it comes to performance between the Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless vs. Astro A50, our main point of consideration is the battery life and wireless performance of each headset.

When it comes to performance, the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless has some good features under the sleeves, the changeable battery can last 20 hours for both and has seamless and uninterrupted wireless connections. The only thing is you get 10 hours from each battery which you also have to change to get more power, we doubt many people would want to go through this while playing games.

On the side of Astro A50, it also has an interrupted wireless connection, has a battery life that lasts up to 15 hours on a single charge, and doesn’t require to be changed, and once it’s not used can be placed on charging base station. This put Astro in a better position to compete within gaming headset performance.

For the best performing headset, we decided that Astro A50 has it all, with a charging base and 15 hours uninterrupted battery life, it outperformed the SteelSeries Arctis Pro which has 10 hours for a single battery charge.

Performance Winner: Astro A50

Microphone

This is a straight analysis of the two headsets, the SteelSeries Arctis Pro wireless has a retractable microphone, uses a ClearCast microphone for clarity, studio-quality voice, and background noise cancellation. The Astro A50 microphone is not that bad, it also has clear audio listening and the microphone is foldable. Both are not the greatest when it comes to podcasts or videos, a dedicated microphone will work better.

Because of this, we think the best microphone should go to SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless which has more clear audio.

Microphone winner: SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless.

Is the SteelSeries Arctis Pro wireless worth it?

The SteelSeries Arctis Pro wireless is worth it because the headset has low latency and sounds great if you like natural sound, it can be used on a PC, mobile device, and console, it has a very comfortable fit and the microphone has noise cancelling.

Do pro gamers use wired or wireless headsets?

Most pro gamers use the wired gaming headset this is because the wired headset receives audio frequency through the cables allowing the headset to produce a better audio quality, clear vocals, and less interference, unlike the wireless headsets which can encounter some distortions.

Is stereo or surround better for gaming?

For us, the stereo sound is much better for gaming because some of these gaming headsets have poor quality sound, but if you want to use surround sound, then look for a headset with Dolby Atmos for virtual surround sound.

Conclusion

These two headsets, SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless and Astro A50 are good gaming headsets with both having different but unique features. The SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless has two rechargeable batteries, a noise-cancelling microphone, 10 hours battery life, a comfortable fit, and the option of either a wired or wireless headset. The Astro A50 has a single battery that lasts up to 15 hours, high-frequency sound, base station charging, EQ setting, foldable microphone, stylish design, and Dolby Atmos. As we draw to a conclusion, we tried our best to bring you a real comparison, the choice now is yours, but we think the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless is the ideal headset.
