“I have an Android smartphone and recently, the camera has stopped working. When I try to use the camera app or open a third-party app that uses the camera, the screen remains black and the app crashes or freezes. I have tried everything within my technical know-how but it’s still not working.

I am not very tech-savvy, so I am wondering if there is a way for me to troubleshoot or fix this issue myself, or if I need to take my phone to a professional repair shop.

Is there a specific solution or repair process that I should try, or are there any common causes for this issue that I should be aware of? Any advice or information on this matter would be greatly appreciated.”

There are a few things you can try to fix your Android smartphone’s broken camera:

Restart your phone: A simple restart can sometimes resolve minor bugs and issues. Hold down the power button and tap “Restart” to restart your phone.

Keep an eye out for updates: Check that your phone is running the most recent operating system version. Check for updates by going to Settings > System > System updates.

Clear the camera app’s cache and data: Tap on “Clear cache” and “Clear data” in Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage. This will return the camera app to its default settings and may resolve any issues you are having.

Check for physical damage: If your phone has been dropped or suffered physical damage, the camera may have been harmed. Examine the phone for visible damage, such as cracks or dents, and ensure that the camera lens is clean.

If these steps do not resolve the problem, the camera may have a hardware problem that requires professional repair. You can take your phone to a nearby repair shop or contact the manufacturer for more information.

If your phone’s camera is not working, there are a few steps you can take to resolve the issue. These are some examples:

Restarting your phone usually solves any software issues that are causing the camera to malfunction.

Checking for dirt or debris in the camera lens: Gently clean the lens with a soft cloth.

Turning off your phone and removing the battery (if possible): Turn off your phone and remove the battery for a minute before turning it back on.

Clearing the cache and data from the camera app: Navigate to your phone’s settings, then to “Apps,” then to the camera app, and then to “Clear Cache” and “Clear Data.”

If none of these steps help, your phone may have a hardware problem and you will need to take it to a professional for repair.
